Sierra Flight Systems EFIS-1000

Ultimate Situational Awareness
Sierra Flight Systems has taken the extensive engineering and development that went into our state-of-the-art EFIS-2000 and repackaged it into an affordable system specifically de- signed for the homebuilder with a budget. Builders of RVs, Pulsars, Europas, EZEs, tube- and-fabric sport aircraft, and many others will appreciate its lightweight, compact design, and easy installation. Virtually identical in appearance to its big brother, the EFIS-1000 has been designed to give the experimental aircraft pilot unmatched situational awareness at a reasonable price. The EFIS-1000 system consists of three software pages (primary flight display, moving map, and engine monitor) displayed on a high-resolution, full-color multi-function display (MFD). A second MFD is optional but not necessary.
EFIS-1000 Primary Flight Display
The primary flight display (PFD) combines pitot-static information from an EAU (Engine/Airdata Unit), and position and track input from a GPS receiver (included), to generate a display identical to that of the EFIS-2000 but without attitude information (conventional artificial must be included on the panel in order to determine aircraft attitude). This display utilizes military-style flight path marker symbology with 3-D skyway (highway-in-the-sky) navigation for waypointsand approaches. The flight path marker, which displays your projected flight path, allows you to guide your aircraft through a 3-D series of "boxes" on the screen - easily, safely, and accurately to the destination. The PFD also displays real-time 3-D terrain modeling, airspeed, ground speed, altitude, altitude above ground, density altitude, vertical speed, angle of attack, heading, decision height, actual winds aloft, crosswind component, OAT, and timers. In effect, what you see on the screen is virtual VFR, regardless of what you can (or cant) see out the window.
EFIS-1000 Moving Map
The EFIS-1000s vector moving map utilizes Jeppesen NavData and will display your flight plan along with any terrain that is approaching or above your current altitude. Plus, our unique horizontal projected path shows the track of your aircraft up to one minute into the future. Map can be viewed in radar-sweep style or position-centered (full compass rose) with scales ranging from 10-160 miles. Multiple levels of de-clutter allow you to configure the map with the info you want to see.
EFIS-1000 Digital Engine Monitor
The EFIS-1000 digital engine monitoring system with voice warning watches up to 40 different parameters simultaneously, regardless of which software page is currently being displayed. All parameters are displayed in both analog and digital format and our unique color coding system instantly identifies any reading that exceeds the normal range. Additionally, the EFIS-1000 logs all flight and engine data for download (to a speadsheet) and review.
EAU (Engine/Airdata Unit)
Every Sierra Flight Systems EFIS includes an EAU.The EAU is a microprocessor-controlled analog/digital converter that senses airdata and engine sources, processes the information, and sends it to the CPUs. The EAU also incorporates the voice warning system. The EAU can be configured by the pilot to display virtually any combination of engine and pitot- static information continuously regardless of what is shown on the MFDs.For example, the graphic above shows the EAU displaying RPM, manifold pressure, airspeed, oil temp/pressure, peak CHT, and altitude. The EAU is wired to the aircrafts master switch to provide the pilot with engine monitoring capability during engine start, before the EFIS is powered up.
If you want the safety and power of an EFIS without the astronomical price, choose the affordable EFIS-1000 from Sierra Flight Systems.
